This Circular provides guidelines on establishment and operation of Medical Assessment Councils at all levels, including: Provincial Medical Assessment Council, ministerial Medical Assessment Council, central Medical Assessment Council and Medical Assessment Council for special reassessment.

Medical Assessment Councils at all levels refer to the medical councils established to evaluate health status and rate bodily impairment (if any) by injuries, diseases, abnormalities, deformities or malformations at the request of an agency, organization or individual.

The term of a Medical Assessment Council shall be 05 (five) years from the day on which its establishment decision is signed, except for the MAC for special reassessment.

This Circular comes into force from April 15, 2023. To replace Circular No. 52/2016/TT-BYTstatus3 dated December 30, 2016.
