blue-check Mineral mines must close after the licenses expire

Official letter No. 5893/BTNMT-KSVN dated July 26th, 2023 of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment regarding management of mineral activities in provinces, centrally-affiliated cities

According to this Official letter, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment requested provinces’ authorities to proactively inspect and completely resolve shortcomings and violations in mineral activities, especially completely handle organizations and individuals engaging in mineral activities that procrastinate, fail to perform the obligation to close mines, fail to hand over land to the local authorities after the mining licenses expired.

In addition, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment also requests provinces’ authorities to urge the performance of financial obligations and related obligations of organizations and individuals engaging in mineral activities, contents about tax exemptions and reductions (if any) must comply with current legal regulations.
