To ensure cyberinformation security upon using surveillance cameras, the Prime Minister directs Ministries, ministerial agencies, Governmental agencies, People’s Committees of provinces and central-affiliated cities, groups, state corporations to determine information system that utilizes surveillance cameras, by the end of March 2023 at the latest; implement solutions for maintaining security of information system based on levels in regard to existing information systems that utilize surveillance cameras, by the end of September 2023 at the latest.
Upon employing surveillance cameras, they must meet cyberinformation security requirements as per the law; rejecting surveillance cameras that lack certificate of origin, certificate of product quality and surveillance cameras that have been warned by competent authorities about their cyberinformation security risks.
For the case of investment or procurement of surveillance cameras or hiring information technology that employ surveillance cameras, it is required to inspect and assess cyberinformation security as per the law and inspect and assess cyberinformation security on a periodic basis.
The Ministry of Information and Communications is responsible for developing criteria for basic cyberinformation security requirements for surveillance cameras by March 2023 at the latest and promulgating national technical regulation pertaining to basic cyberinformation security requirements for surveillance cameras by November 2023 at the latest.
